Auto review: 2025 Lexus LX700h is big, brawny and ready for everything
Published in Business News
While automakers continue to offer larger and larger vehicles, Lexus has no problem touting its ever-popular LX. The long-lasting success of the big-fleet Lexus models needs no introduction and has been around for years.
This week we're testing the 2025 Lexus LX700h Overtrail. Wrapped in Nori Green Pearl, the seven-seater off-road powerhouse boasts a 457 horsepower, 3.4-liter twin-turbo V-6 engine with a towing capacity of 8,000 pounds. Paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission, the LX700h is ready for just about anything. The torque is astounding at 583 pound-feet. To call it a beast would be an understatement. This vehicle has absolutely no problem getting up and going while still maintaining great fuel efficiency.
In 2025, the Overtrail package gets rolled out and boasts off-road capabilities that far exceed the competition. Riding on all-terrain 18-inch tires, the Lexus LX700h Overtrail delivers an array of upscale luxury features for passengers while still hitting the trails hard.
Standard is a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, similar to other large Lexus SUV models, a 12.3-inch multi-information display, Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, six USB-C ports, plus a host of safety features and heads up display. Our Overtrail tester also offered a Mark Levinson 25-speaker audio system with surround sound.
Lexus has massively improved and updated its entire fleet in recent years. The Lexus LX is no different — it's not your average Toyota Sequoia from the past. Its exceptional hybrid performance and upscale luxury additions make it a great choice as a massive people mover with off-road capabilities for weekend adventures.
